Frozen Key Lime Pie

Happy Sunday, everyone! Today is my brother's 17th birthday so I FINALLY have a reason to bake something. I haven't had the chance to bake in a long time so it felt good to be back at it!

Since it's the middle of August and quite warm in NJ, I decided to go with a Frozen Key Lime Pie that I have been making for years. It's a family favorite!

To make the crust, you will need to combine:
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted

Stir these ingredients together and firmly press the mixture into a spring form pan and bake for approximately 8 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

It should look something like this:

For the filling, beat 1 cup of heavy cream until it is slightly thickened. Gradually add 1/2 cup of sugar until soft peaks form. Add 1 12-oz can of sweetened condense milk and beat until stiff peaks form. Beat in 3/4 cups of fresh squeezed lime juice and 1 tablespoon of lime zest. Then beat in 1 pint of half and half. Once the mixture is completely combined, gently pour it over the cooled crust. Cover and freeze for 4 to 6 hours or until firm.
Here's what it looks like in the pan once its a bit frozen.

Here are a few shots of the finished product! I garnished with a few lime slices for some extra cuteness. It's a great summer dessert and one that I will continue to make for years to come!

XOXO,

Hannah

Healthy French Toast

One thing I've been enjoying making for lunch lately is healthy French toast! I had some time to make some nice lunches and this has been one I've been loving!
Here's one I made recently with blueberries. I should really call it peanut butter "stuffed" French toast since I like to spread some natural peanut butter in between! I also sprinkled a little cinnamon and powders sugar on top and a little bit of maple syrup. I use Nature's Harvest whole wheat 40 calorie per slice bread. It's one of my current faves!

New Products Swatches and Reviews!

As I mentioned in my last post, I would be doing some swatches and mini reviews of some of my recent purchases. I always love playing around with new eye shadows, which I would say are my favorite makeup products! So let's get started! First we have the new Covergirl Bombshell Shineshadows and I picked up the shade Platinum Club.

These are cream shadows that some in a cute little squeezy tube package and I think it's really cute and compact!

It's a really pretty deep shimmery purple color, but it has somewhat of a neutral look to it. I immediately thought to pair it with my L'Oreal Infallible eye shadow in the shade Liquid Diamond (right) and I absolutely loved it when I wore it! I'm really loving subtle purple eye looks thee days.

Next I picked up two Essence single eye shadows. I had heard about these from Tati and decided to give them a try!

The color on the left is just the Essence single eye shadow in the shade Party all Night. It is your basic shimmery taupe color and it has great pigmentation for such a low price! The next two colors are from the Essence 3D eye shadow which comes with two shades and has a really cool look to it. Again, they are basic shimmery neutrals, but it really caught my eye and it was like noting I've ever seen before!

Here is a shot of the single shadow. I really like the 3D look! I will definitely be checking out more Essence products!

After LOVING the Wet n' Wild Comfort Zone palette, I decided to pick up one of the 3 pan eye shadow palettes since I don't own any! This was also in a shade that I had not seen anywhere else in stores so I jumped on it!

This is called Silent Treatment and I just love it! It seems like I'm really into purple-ish shades these days! I think I will get some good use out of this palette. Here are some quick little swatches!

I'm just so pleased with the drugstore these days, and it's taking everything in me to stop buying more makeup! I hope you all enjoyed this post and check back again soon for more! Have a beautiful day!

Some New Drugstore Products

Happy 2014 everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday season and are excited for 2014! I really enjoyed relaxing and eating some delicious food over the holidays but it's back to reality now!

The drugstore certainly started off 2014 with a bang, and even the end of 2013 was pretty amazing regarding new products. The amazing displays kept catching my eye and I could no longer resist and I picked up a few things :)

After watching one of Tati, or GlamLifeGuru's videos, I wanted to try some Essence products from Ulta so I got 2 single eye shadows from them.

The Rimmel Stay Matte foundation is pretty exciting and after loving the powder, I thought it would be nice to try out the foundation!

Covergirl has a new Bombshell line so I picked up one of the Shineshadows which I'm excited to try out since I love cream shadows!

I saw this cute Wet n Wild eye shadow trio which we all know are amazingly pigmented and beautiful, and lastly I just picked up an elf blush.

I will definitely be doing a post on some swatches and my thoughts on these products, along with a few more things I picked up recently :)Make sure you check out elf cosmetics!

Have a great day everyone, and I will talk to you all soon!

Xoxo,

Hannah
